Krill Oil
Countless small arthropods (crustaceans) feeding on phytoplankton (plant plankton) live in the very clean sea areas around the Antarctic.

The scientific name of this zooplankton crustaceans is Euphausia superba.

The shrimp-like animals of its kind are maximum six centimeters long and live in large, sometimes long shoals.

This mass deposits make a krill fishery possible.

The applications of krill oil
The application of a krill oil-based food supplement can have a positive influence on many bodily processes in humans:

  • Heart – and vascular disease (atherosclerosis)
  • Fat metabolism (cholesterol and Triglycerides)
  • Diseases related to oxidative cell stress (micro inflammation, chronic inflammation in the gastric-intestinal area)
  • Joint problems due to wear (arthrosis, arthritis) or from the rheumatic shapes circle
  • Weight reduction diet
  • Premenstrual complaints (PMS)
  • Menstrual irregularities,
  • as well as neurophysiological symptoms (ADHD, ADHD).

Krill Oil is most commonly used against a spectrum of diseases which is associated with high intake of Omega-6 fatty acids as a result of a diet with a large proportion of meat, eggs, dairy and cereal products (mainly from wheat flour).

The unfavourable ratio of too much Omega-6 fatty acids compared with too little Omega-3 fatty acids leads to the emergence of a number of (micro) inflammation in the body.

The related diseases are favoured not only by the poor ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3 fatty acids, but also by the circumstances of so-called modern lifestyles.

Lifestyle with much stress, lack of exercise.

Conditions like obesity, exposure of man through the inclusion of various toxic substances such as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, medicines and environmental toxins, and due to high load of the UV rays on our skin.

Taking krill oil as a dietary supplement prevent the emergence of (micro) inflammation or the existing inflammation subside.

There are many diseases that can be successfully treated by the ingestion of krill oil; some of them are:

  • Hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis)
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes (diabetes mellitus)
  • Diseases such as osteoarthritis and arthritis rheumatic
  • Inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s disease,
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Stomach ulcers

Other areas of application are:
Menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) and PMS (premenstrual syndrome):

All around the female cycle events, there are numerous complaints whhich can expose women.

These include, suffering from physical symptoms (abdominal cramps, headache, back pain, skin problems, extremely heavy bleeding, bloating, indigestion, fatigue, painful feeling in the breasts).

As well as those with mental characteristics (irritability, nervousness, insomnia, anxiety).

Krill Oil is used successfully in therapy for multiple complaints.

Fighting obesity:

Krill Oil intervenes in the endocrine system which is responsible in humans for the control of eating habits by affecting the feeling of hunger.

Krill Oil is therefore, work effectively to help reducing body weight and finds application in support of diets.

    High cholesterol, especially LDL cholesterol:

Errors in fat metabolism most times often result into high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Taking krill oil provides a normalization of bad blood lipids.

    ADS, ADHS:

The use of krill oil is also recognized in neurophysiologically pathological areas.

Taking krill oil has proven itself effective among other things and as shown in children that suffer from ADHD (attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder).

The positive effect of krill oil is based on improving the functioning of the entire nervous system since the phospholipids in the walls of our nerve cells enhanced our metabolism.

This therefore result to good communication, especially in the brain where the cell walls are very rich in phospholipids.

    Common aging processes:

Because Krill Oil relieves the body, micro inflammation can be curbed or prevented, and its extremely good bioavailability of antioxidants like astaxanthin to ensure an optimal supply of cell’s brakes in general aging processes in the body.

For example, the skin is often exposed to a high oxidative stress by aggressive rays which can be mitigated by krill oil.

Krill oil as compared to fish oil

The areas of application for krill oil has relationship with the positive effect that it brings with its high content of Omega-3 fatty acids and strong antioxidants.

Compared with Omega-3-rich fish oil, krill oil, however, has decisive advantages: its Omega-3 content is significantly higher than in the fish oil.

But above all, the valuable
Omega-3 fatty acids in phospholipids in Krill Oil are bound and not like in the fish oil on triglycerides.

The binding of Omega-3 fatty acids in phospholipids makes excellent bio- available, which means that you can take on much better than from fish oil because your cell membranes (cell walls) are also composed of phospholipids in krill oil.

Therefore, the phospholipids in Omega 3 of the krill oil in the cell walls in the body is bound easily and thus, the injection of Omega-3 fatty acids in the Interior of the cell, where it can finally be used.

What’s totally missing in fish oil is the high proportion of antioxidants (free radical scavenger), resulting in the krill diet of vegetable plankton.)

Ingredients of Krill oil
In Krill oil products, the krill oil content in drugs will vary depending on the manufacturer.

Also, different excipients are used in different products. The medically relevant components of krill oil itself are as follows:

Phospholipid Omega-3 complex is 40%, in which Omega-3 fatty acids is 30%, of which EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) is 15%, and DHA (Docosahexanoic acid) is 9%:

the high content of Omega-3 fatty acids in the ideal ratio of 15: 1 to the Omega-6 fatty acids is responsible for the numerous positive medical effects in combating the various above mentioned diseases.

EPA and DHA are good to reduce pro-inflammatory chemicals in the body. The binding of the Omega-3 fatty acids of the phospholipids in Krill Oil guarantees the high bio-availability of EPA and DHA for man.

The Krill Oil phospholipids, which are integrated in our cell walls provide for effective networking and a free exchange between the cells.

On the one hand, it has positive effects on metabolism (importation of necessary substances, unhindered export of waste products).

On the other hand, the entire nervous system benefits from uninterrupted communication of nerve cells, causing the neurophysiologisch positive effects on ADS, ADHS, generally, the memory, the psyche, or even learning due to memory and Alzheimer’s.

Omega-6 fatty acids, 2%

Help building cell membranes and keep them flexible.

Oleic acid, 3%: for cardio protective, because it has blood pressure lowering effect.

Astaxanthin is 0.15%: astaxanthin fight those scavengers which prevent the so-called oxidative stress of cells.

Such antioxidants there is abundant in krill oil in the form of vitamins and carotenoids. It also prevent the so-called rancid, so the oxidation which occurs more quickly with fish oil and provides for its unpleasant aftertaste. Astaxanthin is important substance that protects the cells.

Research has been successfully tested on this for anti aging. The antioxidant effects of astaxanthin is 6,000 times more powerful than vitamin C and 550-fach is stronger than those of vitamin E.

Studies on krill oil in its medical use
Some scientists have compiled independent easy-to-understand information about the applications and effective forms of EPA and DHA to Omega-3 fatty acid supplements, although related to fish oil, but for the higher quality because krill oil is more bioavailable.

There are now many positive results and above all, independent studies on the complex subject, therefore one can only point to a small selection. The application area for krill oil and the title of the study along with a brief summary are the following.

The publications in international scientific journals.
Arthritis: Luisa German, 2006, evaluation of the effect of Neptune krill oil on chronic inflammation and arthritis: Pain, stiffness and dysfunction of chronically inflamed joints could be improved significantly by taking krill oil.

Cardiovascular disease: Krill oil supplementation lowers serum triglycerides without increasing low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in adults with high triglyceride levels : Intake of Krill oil can reduce High triglyceride levels and thus, discover the cardiovascular risk in the study.

Diabetes and hyperglycemia: Evaluation of the effects of krill oil on the clinical course on hyperlipidemia : The effectiveness of taking krill oil was discovered based on the positive development of the blood sugar levels, as well as with regard to the reduction in blood lipids (LDL, HDL, and triglycerides).

Krill oil proved it’s more effective than, for example, fish oil. ADS, ADHS: in ADHD study with superbaâ„¢, Krill Oil shows significant positive effects: A study of ADHD with Krill Oil shows significantly positive effects on the subjects (people that were tested).

PMS, dysmenorrhea: Evaluation of the effects of Neptune krill oilâ„¢ on the management of premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea: With high significance, the study comes to the conclusion that the intake of krill oil, both in the physical and mental complaints for the PMS and dysmenorrhea affected women, and they experienced relief and improvement in their symptoms.

Examples of Application of krill oil
Tablets/pills: The application is straightforward. Unlike fish oil, taking Krill Oil supplements cause no regurgitation and fishy aftertaste. A dose of 300 to 1,000 mg of krill oil per day is recommended, depending on the symptoms.

This corresponds to how many tablets, is depending on the provider and enrichment in the preparation. If necessary, an interaction of krill oil with blood-thinning agents (Marcomar, acetylsalicylic acid) can occur. In this case,
application and dosage of krill oil in therapy should be agreed by the doctor before beginning.

Taking Krill Oil tablets with some liquid can be done at any time, however it is
preferred in the context of a low-fat meal due to its fat soluble vitamins.

Pills without side effects
Krill Oil is a naturally derived food supplement, for which, apart from an interaction with blood thinners, no such side effects are known, but many positive effects in connection with the application are scientifically documented. Also, the production of the Krill Oil has no side effects: the Antarctic is a sensitive Habitat.

Conclusion
Scientifically beneficial effect of taking Krill oil can greatly protect the quality of life and enhance it. Its ingredients prevent many typical civilization sufferers or alleviate their symptoms and cure their causes. The positive effect is proven by numerous scientific studies.

Krill Oil is therefore, as a dietary supplement recommended for people with:
